Dried Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad

This easy to make Dried Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad hits a a number of green lights at my house. My hubby is a big fan of pasta salad and I am a big fan of those wonderful rotisserie chickens that can be morphed into easy-to-make meals.  A touch of sweetness from the cherries, a bit of crunch from the celery and toasted almonds, all tossed with a light and flavorful poppy seed dressing. Whether you’re looking for an addition to your Mother’s Day brunch or a tasty lunch option, check out this delightful Spring salad and give your taste buds a treat.

Dried Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad

Serving Size: 4 servings


  • 3 cups cooked bow tie pasta
  • 2 cup cooked chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 1 3.5 ounce package of sweetened dried cherries
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion (green part only)
  • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds


  • Prepare pasta according to package directions, drain, rinse with cold water and drain again.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the pasta, chicken, celery, cherries, almonds and green onions and stir to mix well.
  • In a smaller bowl, whisk the dressing ingredients until well blended.
  • Pour dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine. Chill until ready to use.
