Brownie Dessert Pizza is the beautiful and delicious finale in the pizza extravaganza series!
Starting with a box mix means it only takes a few ingredients to create this fun dessert pizza. Spreading the batter onto a pizza stone or pan creates a thinner, chewy brownie crust. Next, our brownie crust is frosted with a simple cream cheese frosting once the crust is cooled. Now comes the sexy strawberries and chocolate drizzle that give this dessert its wow factor. Lynda, pastry chef extraordinaire, made this dessert her own by marinating the strawberries in a splash of strawberry/fig balsamic vinegar to take things up a notch. Delightful!

Great Holiday Ideas
Valentine’s Day or Bridal Shower – Lynda created this heart shaped version of her brownie pizza as a nod to Valentine’s day. Loved this idea! Remember the paper construction hearts we created as kids? That’s what Lynda used to created her pattern. If you have never created a paper heart before, no worries! Just follow the quick video at this link. After the pizza cools, use the pattern to cut your crust into a heart shape. Using this heart shape would be a fun idea for a bridal shower as well.
Spring or Summer Event – Pretty strawberry topped desserts are a great idea for Spring events like Easter or Mother’s day or Summer picnics and barbeques. Create the standard round brownie crust for this option. You could also opt for chopping the strawberries instead of slicing them. This would still provide a pretty presentation but make the brownies easier to eat by hand.
Additional Tips
- Fruit – you can also use a mix of sliced or chopped fresh fruit for your brownie pizza. Try combining strawberries peaches, kiwis and blueberries for a colorful combination.
- Melting & Drizzling Chocolate – melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl then pour into a resealable plastic bag. Snip a small corner from the bag and pipe chocolate drizzle onto dessert. Here’s a link with pictures if you need more details.

Brownie Dessert Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 box of Ghirardelli Brownie Mix (or other preferred mix) plus the ingredients required for the mix
- Parchment Paper
- 1 Large Round 15” pizza stone or a round pizza pan
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- fresh strawberries (approximately 2 cups) sliced or chopped (or use a combination of fruit)
- Splash of strawberry/fig or regular balsamic vinegar (2-3 tsp.) optional
- Melted Semi-Sweet Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Prepare the brownie mix as per the instructions on the box. Cut the parchment paper to the shape of the pizza stone. Line the stone with the cut paper. Spread the brownie mixture on the parchment paper within 1” of the edges. It is important to use the parchment paper because it will help prevent the brownie mixture from seeping over the stone while in the oven cooking. Bake brownies (at temperature recommended on box) until center comes out clean on a toothpick about 15 to 20 minutes. Cool completely.
- Flip the brownie crust over onto cooling stone or cutting board so that parchment paper is on top. Carefully remove parchment paper. Place serving platter on top of brownie crust and invert onto platter. Cut pizza into heart shape, if desired.
- Toss sliced or chopped strawberries with balsamic vinegar in a shallow bowl and let marinate, tossing occasionally, while you proceed with recipe.
- Mix the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar well and spread on the brownie pizza base within 1” of the edge. Arrange strawberries (or mixed fruit) decoratively on top crust and then drizzle with melted chocolate. Enjoy!
