Diners Drive-ins & Dives themed Gourmet Club

I was the host for our gourmet club gathering which was based on a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives theme. It was a lovely evening with friends and food . The Route 66 road trip my hubby and I took this summer provided the inspiration for this triple D theme. In addition to the hearty “road food” recipes I’ve provided, I will also treat you to some of the quotable quotes for the evening…

  • “I felt like Mrs. Patmore while filling the little mason jars with trout spread” (a reference to the head cook on Downton Abbey)
  • “I’ve never had wine with chili, but hey it works!”
  • “The carrot cake SCREAMS Fall!”
  • “I need to Tupperware these bad boys out” (a reference to dividing up the leftover cake for all to share)
