Outrageous Cookie Bars – A Treat Everyone Loves

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I brought these Outrageous Cookie Bars to our friend’s cabin recently. Everyone loved them! When we headed home, I left behind a stash of bars, knowing, they would probably be enjoyed by guests coming the following weekend. I had to smile when Tracey texted this past Saturday from the cabin. Her text included a picture of the one remaining bar (and it was only noon) along with a request for the recipe. It appears that Tracey’s daughter and grandsons enjoyed these bars as well!

I confess. If my friend Tracey had not asked for this recipe, I was not planning to share it.  These bars are essentially the same as the 7 layer bar. My recipe just happens to call them Outrageous Cookie Bars. Since they tend to show up at all of my family picnics, I assumed everyone had this recipe. But I am totally willing to respond to a request. Tracey, this one is for you!

We so enjoyed our visit to your cabin. Thanks again for inviting us. I think all of the outdoor time at the cabin makes everything taste better! That’s the way it seems at my cabin too. So glad you kept a small personal stash for yourself. I totally get that.;-)

I know I have made the 7 layer bars before, but I don’t remember them being this good. What a treat to have good friends to the cabin for the weekend (great company was enough) but all the wonderful food you made us was just the icing on the cake. I still have a few of these bars hidden in my freezer for the next time I am up there, yum!
