The True Leader is Not Elected – Thyme4Faith

October 25, 2016 by cathyscooking@gmail.com 4 Comments

A man representing Uncle Sam in a suit that looks like an American flag kneeling in church with his head bowed.

Tied in knots about this crazy election? Don’t be! The true leader is not elected.

Are you weary, ambivalent, or down right disgusted by this year’s election?  You are not alone! Let me stress this is not a political opinion piece. In fact, I don’t really care much for politics. But I do identify with the quandary most voters face.

The True Leader is Not Elected

News flash everyone – the real battle isn’t Hillary vs. Donald. It’s God vs. Satan. If you don’t know who won that battle, here’s the spoiler alert – don’t read any further! But if you want to know whether God’s power is greater than Satan’s, then read on.

That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:19-21

What Does That Mean?

So what does that mean? It means that no matter who is in office, God is in control. Whether it be the President, local political offices, leaders of industry or your own boss. You may feel like our country or your personal situation is in the wrong hands, but ultimately it’s really in the hands of a higher authority. That includes yesterday, today and in the future.

Does that mean you can expect nothing but sunshine and roses? No. We still live in a fallen world. A world that needs a Savior. That savior, Jesus, won the most important battle of all time. He defeated Satan, by dying on the cross and defeating death. Yet, while the eternal victory is won, our earthly battle continues. But remember this very important distinction, when you come up against earthly trials. You are fighting from victory not for victory.

There will be challenges no matter who becomes our next President. Face it, being President is a really tough job. With that obvious fact on the table, please keep in mind that our next President deserves our respect.

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.  Romans 13:1

I pray this Thyme4Fath post shifts your focus in this election season to an eternal perspective and the fact that God’s got this.
