The frame you put on life matters. Here’s why…
Try Reframing Your Life
“Do you know how many things we have been on top of?” the hubby asks, as we’re enjoying an anniversary lunch last year. Having no idea what he’s getting at, Mike goes on to “reframe” our many travel adventures. The mountains in Switzerland, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the top of a volcano in Maui etc… It was a new way to look at our travels from a lofty perspective. I was so charmed by the way Mike reframed our travels, I created this collage to capture our memories.
Typically we are caught up in the details of life. Both the daily routines and challenges we face. But try reframing your life. This means looking at situations through God’s eyes for a fresh perspective. If we pull back the lens from the details, we will see things from a broader context. Ask yourself, what is God trying to do in me and through me?
The Worst is Actually the Best
You see, God can use each and every part of your life, if you let Him. When loved ones are suffering and need help, the new frame could be that God wants to deepen your relationship with them. If you crash and burn at work, a new frame could be that God is teaching you humility or that you’re not in the right place. Should health fail, a new frame could be that God wants you to rely on His strength vs. your own. What looks like the worst thing in the world, can actually turn out to be a profound change that betters your life. But you have to get out of your own limited viewpoint to see this way.
We are all trying to make sense of what is happening around us. Slow down, take the time to step back and contemplate. Ask yourself what God may be doing. Better yet, ask Him directly. Then be still and listen with your heart. He will reframe things with His wisdom and love. He will give you a fresh perspective and new hope.
Going Deeper
My faith home, Hosanna!, is doing a sermon series called New. Check it out to gain additional depth on reframing your life from God’s perspective.

Loved this reminder. Especially since the last few months things have been piling up with issue upon issue. It is good to reframe and remind myself that God is still in control and he is making something beautiful out of this.

Cathy, I think this is my favorite of your messages. I have had a number of losses in my life in the past couple of months, and trying to make sense of things has been really difficult. I love the idea of “reframing” with God’s help in gaining perspective. thank you for this wonderful post! Kay

I always pray that these Thyme4Faith messages will reach the right person at the right time. Hearing from you makes me believe God answered that prayer.

Beautifully written mom. I need to remind myself daily to see things from God’s perspective instead of my limited human understanding. The frame turned out really well!

Thanks Jess. I had lots of inspiration from multiple sources. The link to my travel collage was totally Spirit led.
