Ingredients
Turkey Patties
2tablespoonsolive oil
1tspgarlicfinely minced
1teaspoonfreshly cracked black pepper
1teaspoonkosher salt
1teaspoononion powder
1/2teaspoonchili powder
1poundground turkey
1/2cuproasted red pepper hummusI used Sabra
1/4cuproasted red pepperschopped
1eggbeaten
Dill Yogurt Sauce
1cupplain Greek Yogurt
1/4cupchopped fresh dill
2tablespoonsmilk
1/2teaspoonfreshly cracked black pepper
1/2teaspoongarlic powder
1/2teaspoonkosher salt
1/2teaspoononion powder
Instructions
Turkey Patties
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Combine garlic, pepper, salt, onion powder and chili powder in a bowl and stir. Add turkey, hummus, roasted red pepper and beaten egg. Mix gently with a fork or your hands until everything is well incorporated.
Form into 8 patties. Note- because the meat mixture is fairly moist, I started by making 8 equal size balls on a cutting board and then patted them gently into a thick patty.
Cook until golden brown on both sides (about 4 minutes per side). Using two spatulas to turn the patties helps them stay together. Serve with dill yogurt sauce and optional sides.
Dill Yogurt Sauce
Mix all ingredients and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Optional Sides: Sliced tomato, salad greens, fresh dill,, Kalamata olives, sliced red onion, feta cheese, cucumber and pita bread.
